Annalisa Occhipinti

Business Development Manager

An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for languages.

In a middle school essay, she wrote that she wanted to become a parliamentary interpreter when she grew up: she had been struck by reading a book called “Hello, ici l’interprete,” which quickly brought forth her dormant desire to study foreign languages in order to understand and communicate with everyone.

Languages have always been the protagonists of every decision she made, even though life led her down different paths: in Biella, she attended a classical high school, but in the afternoons, she dedicated herself to intensive foreign language study. She then moved to Milan, where she still lives and works, and graduated in languages from the Catholic University.

Thanks to her thesis in mathematical and computational linguistics (in 1986), she dove into the world of computer science as a translator, then moved on to an American consulting company. This was followed by experiences in marketing and communication in another American company, and then 10 years as the head of language training at Elea in Milan, for the Olivetti group. From there, in 1995, came the turning point towards multimedia design and later her role as a Community Manager for Webscuola, on behalf of (now TIM).

After 2000, she returned to languages because you never forget your first love. She managed a translation center within a language school and finally, in January 2011, she opened her own translation company, Opitrad, which became part of Creative Words in 2023. A great chance to continue an unconventional journey.

In addition to work and taking care of her family, she is a devoted reader, loves to travel, and is part of an amateur international folk-dance group.
