Translator & Social Media Manager
From a very early age, Sara knew she would like to make a living out of her love of reading. After taking a wrong turn early on at a scientific high school (which she only survived thanks to her classes in the humanities), she finally enrolled in the course for Translators and Interpreters of the University of Genoa. Right after her last exam, and while writing her degree thesis, she landed her first “real” job: some weeks earlier she had randomly applied for an entry position at a big multinational, and quite unexpectedly, she was hired sooner than she would have liked.
Her beloved degree was abandoned right off the bat, but several years later, when she had long set aside her dream, serendipity hit and allowed her to change her life and start over. She left her job and moved to Turin for a Masters in Editorial Translation, thrilled to wake up in the morning and go to school instead of clocking in. At the end of the course, she returned to Genoa and began working as a freelancer, with a healthy dose of temerity and an unlimited amount of enthusiasm.
She began hanging out at the Creative Words office when the company was just a newborn, and she’s happy to have seen it grow day by day. Today, she works as a translator from English and Spanish into Italian and is in charge of Creative Words’ social media management and communications. She feels lucky every day to have been able—even when she had abandoned all hope—to turn her passion for words and languages into a profession.
